ok, I am going to do my very best to try and sort of tell you all a story that still makes me both smile and cry strange sort of combination when you think of it isn't it. Oh incase your wondering the reason for the rear post of Tim you will much better understand in alittle bit, you see my wonderful husband and I found out he had leukemia, the dr told us he had three months to live, well alittle while before he had gone through his chemo and thankfully much to everyones surprise he did survive, well after he was home, he was waiting to go into the Tom Baker hospital, this one morning I was sound asleep, suddenly my usually real quiet and basically "normal" husband came a raising into the bedroom, he was just like a blooming lunatic lol...... what had happened was he had heard on our then local radio station that Tim McGraw was coming to Calgary and going to be playing the Saddledome, well he was just like a wild man, honey help he kept saying, me I was still literally rubbing sleep from my eyes anyhow what it was the station was going to play a small portion of one of Tim's hits he knew I know all his music and need very little of it to be able to give the title, okay he gets me awake hands me my coffee and all, then the time finally comes they play just a smiggen of a song, I looked at him holding the phone with this look of sheer panic I will forever remember that morning, for two reasons the sheer joy on his face when I said to him, honey thats so easy it was one of my fav's wasn't a number one but I loved it the name of the song is called for a little while, he looked again now he is already dialing the phone I said yes honey I am positive thats the name, now this is the gospel truth, he never quit dialing for over an hour that man kept dialing not once did it ring he looked like he was ready to cry, I realized just how much it meant to him to see Tim in concert, for alittle bit I thought perhaps it was just to make me happy oh I knew he loved Tim' s music also but I couldn't believe just how broken he looked, suddenly the fellow on the radio station says this question is obviouslly much harder than we had first realized so we are going to give you a hint, here poor Matt had the answer all along, well the guy might as well have told them the name of the song, he told them it was the song off of Everywhere, even told them what song it was before and after, Matt looked so sad, well the next thing the gal who had managed to somehow get the dang phone to ring well she says ummmm I think I am going to change my mind,he asked her why, she said well on account of your hint, I was gonna guess She's My Kind of Rain but instead I wanna go with For Alittle While, well the bell signalling she had won rang, Matt hung up said how much bs he thought it was, it did seem mighty odd, he had steady dialed and hit redial, and not once had he gotten through, anyhow to make a long story alot shorter, I couldn't get the look I had seen in my loving husbands eyes, nor could I stand to know how badly he wanted to somehow get tickets. I am here to tell you I tried everything humanlly possible I called the radio station exsplained just how much it meant to Matt, pleaded with them to somehow sell me a pair of the tickets they would be giving away, now way they were not about to help anyone, it was that day I realized just how cold " SOME" folks could be, anyhow I tried everything, thank God for computers, I knew from being a member of Tim's fan club he was going to be doing a concert for Larry King for his cardiac foundation, well I didn't really think it would do any good to be honest but I thought it couldn't hurt so I emailed them told them why I was emailing told them truthfully there was no way we could afford to come to the concert the tickets are over a thousand a seat anyhow I also remembered this newspaper I used to read yrs ago when I had lived in Tennessee, so I decided to try and email them too, I didn't know what else to do as all the Canadian organizations I had tried had said no sorry, anyhow much to our shock, I swear neither of us will ever forget it to the day we die, we had been to the cancer hospital, we are both ill, but thats besides the point, anyhow we had had one of the worse days ever up at the hospital, an extremely rough one, so when we got home we sort of felt well extra glum, anyhow I said to Matt, I guess I might as well have a look maybe one of our new friends emailed us a joke and it might help us to feel alittle better, well much to our total shock, Matt knew right away something was up I was just sitting staring I guess I must've had a real shocked look on my face, he says Carole honey whats wrong, I was like ummmm, honey I think you best stay sitting, he said why whats the matter, now what've we gotta go through lol.................. oh what a happy day that turned out to be, here we had recevied an email from The Tim McGraw foundation, not only that, but that day at the hospital they had asked us to please sign some more releases, well we were always signing stuff so it was no big deal, we had happilly signed as we were so acccustomed to, anyhow, the email told us that they had confirmed through the Tom Baker Cancer Foundation that what I had said in my email was all true, I gotta add it turned my belly to think any person would literally make up such a horrible story if it were not true, gosh do they not realize just how horrible it is to be ill, we and I do mean either of us would give anything to have our health back and of that there sure is no doubt. Anyhow the lady I was emailing with was just as sweet as she could possible be, I will forever be grateful to just how much she did to try to make the day we met Tim the very happiest and the best day of our entire lives, and by golly what a sweet person she really was. I emailed this sweet lady a few times, for one reason or another we couldn't help but keeep having to email, anyhow she asked me for our adress this once, so I emailed her back and I asked her if by anychance she had for some reason had to change things and we would instead be receiving our tickets in the regular mail, she then assured me that no, what it was was I had mentioned when she told us we would be attending what is called a pre-party that she was going to ask Tim personally if he would be so kind as to sign a photo for us so she could mail it to the both of us, well we were just tickled pink, and neither of us could get over her utter kindness, I mentioned both Matt and I wished so badly she herself would be at the show as we would so love the opportunity to give her a big ole hug and thank her in person, anyhow the picture arrived, it was beautiful, Bless His Heart, he had signed it hoping we would both be healthy he is such a kind and caring man, and he had even put both of our names on it which made it even more the special, Matt had it in a frame so fast I couldn't believe it, we were both so happy over how sweet Tim had been to do this, and especially the kindness this sweet lady had shown us, I told her when we went to the concert I was going to take some special photos special for her, well she finally I am not sure if it was that day but it was before the show she told me who she was, all this time I had been talking with his sister Tracey, I can honestlly say his Mama sure did an amazing job when she raised those children they have the most enormous hearts ever imagineble, well I am beginning to get as usual alittle on the sleepy side so I will now get to our amazing nite, when we got there, I knew from reading all the posts how much Tim loved to play basketball before every show it was so funny as there was this fellow there when we got there, he was so excited about seeing Tim when he realized we were also going to meet him, oh my gosh I am not sure it was such a good idea to ever say anything as gosh he was just alittle crazy lol... I would have been too, anyhow he kept telling us he just knew he had heard Tim inside the bldg and if we were to go with him we would be able to hear him rehearse, I didn't want to hurt his feelings for anything but I knew dang well there was no possible way it was Tim he had heard, anyhow I nicely told him I wished him the very best of luck however personally I preffered to go to the side of the bldg where the buses were parked, he asked me why, Matt knew dang well I had come to the very real possibility he could very well be out there playing as the weather was just gorgous and there was still quite awhile before the show was to start, anyhow he decided to follow us, I turned out to be right, he was indeed playing basketball, the buses were blocking the view from anyone down below but not from where we were, oh I was just as pleased as punch and so was Matt, we got a couple of pictures of him and his buddies, infact Matt even got one of him dunking the ball. Leave it to my precious Matt he is the master, oh he too was just as pleased as punch, On another terriffic note, I so wanted to have a photo of myself and Matt but I was determined to stand in it, they had discovered I also have ms so they had just switched my meds, however I still was not able to walk but I did manage to stand for the one photo, it is posted and the gorgous, handsome man you see with me in the photo is my amazing husband Matt, I love him dearly however I must confess I worry so very much these days, you see this concert was in 2004, both of us were much healthier then then we are now, infact I know without a doubt my sweet husband is in an awful lot of pain, I don't know what to do to help him, God knows I wish I did, sorry for going off I guess it is just extra hard, he knows I am finally posting this nite, we have since found out Tim is coming back to Canada, infact we nearly got to see him and Faith together, sadly even though we had tickets, we were not well enough to attend, sorry I will get back on topic and close real quick before I fall asleep sitting here.
Okay after we had seen them playing it wasn't long we saw them heading in and knew it was soon time, so we figured we had best go in as well as we had to pick up our tickets, his wonderful sister made certain we wouldn't have any problems as she included his mgrs name to make sure nothing possibly could go wrong Bless her Heart, anyhow we got our tickets, then soon after we were taken down to this place it was right near to the stage, you had to pass right past it, well we were so excited, folks were so nice here I had been worried as I was in my wheel chair that perhaps folks would be mean, wow was I wrong they pushed us both right up front, I literally could lay my hand on Tim's oh so fine boots, well he teased the heck out of us, the second he came through the tent he commented on Kenny who I am sorry to say I am not a fan of, well I knew Tracey had to have told him he just loved it, he winked at Matt knowing he had sucseeded in embarassing me and getting me 10 shades of red, anyhow he sang some songs, was just as nice as could be, then told us all he hoped we would enjoy his show, we all thanked him, somehow Matt and I were the last and he was still there I said Tim, he said yes, he was so sweet I asked him to please promise me he'd thank his Mom when he got back for raising such wonderful children into such kind and caring folk and exsplained about Tracey, duh............ ofcourse he knew that but he just beamed with pride promised he would indeed tell her and that was our meeting with the wonderful Tim.
Well then we went outside, a gal told us someone would meet us upstairs in awhile to take us to our seats, this person worked for the Stampede not Tim, anyhow just as we rounded the corner I said honey look its Faith, she was just going to get onto her bus, instead she came over and said hi there, how are you both doing, she seemed to also know who we were, Matt asked her if it would be ok to take a couple of pictures she said sure no problem, their youngest little Audrey jumped into one of the photos, I know how very protective they are of their children especially with photos, I offered to give it to her, she smiled the most gorgous smile and said its okay Carole I know you only want it for you all, I promised her it would never be posted and it never ever has, I fell even more in love with Faith and so did Matt, she couldn't have been sweeter, well she told us we were going to miss the show so we knew we had best hury, here comes the sad part we went in, we were told in no uncertain terms that they did not cater to the handicapped and if I wasn't able to walk the 10flts needed to get to our seats we just couldn't' see him, then they took our tickets, gave them to another couple and stuck us so far to the back God I promise this is true, not only could we not see him we honest to God could not even hear him, I will never forgive them ever, they put both myself and Matt into tears, I will never forget that nite ever, if not for the lovely Faith Hill and our wonderful meeting with Tim ofcourse it really would have been a dreadful day and nite, my heart breaks for anyonelse who ever hopes to see them at that local as they sure don't care for us, I could kick myself though had Inot been crying so hard and so upset and hurt I just might have thougth to have asked for his mgr as I have no doubt at all this man would've made certain we did indeed see our special concert, live and learn, gosh I so wish I had thought of it sooner, well its been a real long nite, my sweet husband is tired and in pain I am going to try hard to talk him into taking something to help him to feel alittle bit better, God I ask you this again, please watch over Tim and Faith and their amazing family and also God if you can see it would you allow us to be healthy enough to finally see this amazing couple just once perform live this summer, thank-you Lord, I ask you this in Jesus's name, God Bless everyone, much love and many hugs enclosed, cya all later, sweet dreams to all!
